Fight Night Recap

Congratulations to all fighters for putting on a successful show full of both Professional and Amateur MMA action. This was Dragon House’s 10th show that went without incident. Dragon House MMA prides themselves in providing a safe place with a well rounded crowd to come out an enjoy the show. This is why the shows are all ages, with a fun environment for the whole family. Take a moment to read and share socially on some of the highlights of Saturday’s show.

Fight of the night!

Fight of the night goes to James Chaney vs. Sam Spengler. In Round one Sam ‘The Ram’ Spengler was destroying James Chaney with a fury of successful strikes. Sam knocked down James three times due to crushing blows. Chaney’s nose was bleeding severely, so much I thought there might be a stoppage. At the beginning of Round two, both fighters faced off in a grueling striking match, both demonstrating great finesse with each strike. Around minute 2, Sam Spengler seemed to be gassed as James Chaney was aggressively approaching Sam, forcing him to back off and react to some wild hay makers from Chaney. James caught Sam with some punches which stunned him, then both went to the canvas. Chaney ended the match by taking Sam’s back and successfully applying a rear naked choke. I must say, this was a battle for all to see, this is what makes pro bouts worth watching. Great Job to both and I look forward to seeing both return to the Cage.

Let down of the night.

Let down of the night goes to the main event. Everyone was excited to see Strikeforce veteran Bobby Stack return to the cage to face off against Pete Sabala. The fight was announced and both fighters entered the cage. All of a sudden, three Athletic Commissioners entered behind them and signaled for a doctor to look at Bobby Stack. What we could see was some red spots on Bobby’s stomach. One of the commissioners signaled to cancel the fight. The announcement upset the crowd. Unfortunately the fight was called. The reason being was a contagious skin condition of some sort that had flared up on Bobby. Hopefully all will be well with Bobby and we can see him return to Dragon House.
